A New Wave of Recycled Art and Design - 1997 - 98 National traveling exhibition - including shows at the Oakland Museum and the Los Angles Municipal Art Gallery.
New York Times - Op-ed article " The Bottle Bill’s 10 cent solution" by James S. Kunen October 10, 1995 "Deposit laws do clean up the environment: Iowa has cut its litter by 38 percent. And they conserve energy: Recycling an aluminum can saves enough energy to light a 100 watt bulb for seven and a half hours. But deposit bills accomplish some things that will please conservatives far more than that. They privatize a portion of solid-waste pick-up and spawn new businesses such as Eco-Pop Designs , which markets a side walk trash (recycling) container that eliminates the need for high-wage public employees to pick up the materials. About 120 billion disposable beer and soft drink containers are sold in the United States each year. A 10 cent deposit law could generate billions of dollars for the poor." |
